Abotanicity, gauge, and feeling sorry for myself

This is going to be a pathetic post.  Just a warning.

I had this crazy idea that this year was going to be more balanced.  Maybe a bit less work, maybe a bit more other stuff.  Well, suddenly it's February.  And work is still winning.  Every weekend, I'm bringing home work, just trying to keep my head above water.  This is no new news for me.  Work dominating my life has been the standard MO for the past 13 years.

So where does this leave knitting?  I have been overwhelmed by the emails about Abotanicity.  I truly  appreciate the positive response.  If anyone has emailed me and not gotten a response, especially if you asked a question, I am very very sorry.  I wish that I had the time to get to all the emails.

The most frequent Abotanicity question is about gauge.  Yes, I got 52 sts over 4 inches in 2x1 rib.  After a few wearings, the rib loosens up and can measure as varied as 50 or even 48 sts to 4 inches.  The rib is forgiving, so if you're in the ballpark, and you try on as you go, things should be fine.

I'm not sure what to do about the blog.  I want to knit more.  I want to blog more.  I want to get to Ravelry sometime.  But then, sometimes I need to take time to do things that aren't knitting-related and knitting starts feeling like a job.  Does anyone have any thoughts or suggestions?  I'm having a rough time juggling right now.

Sorry for the self pity.  Blech.
